Our Methodology

ENOS brings value to organisations by creating or enhancing in-house improvement strategies and industry best practices such as Lean. We do this by applying our methodology founded on the basics of human instincts and billions of years of evolutionary psychology, still visible in human behaviour* today, to the practice of Lean.

A simple way of measuring the impact of human behavior is to look at the correlation between how an organisation operates its systems, and rewards its people. Organisations generally tend to apply a mechanistic approach to both systems and how it rewards its people, despite the fact that people, their behaviours and motivation are not mechanical.

ENOS address this correlation in terms of profitable and unprofitable behaviour. Profitable behavior indicates that the individual is responding in line with the desired organisational requirements. Unprofitable behaviours are much more complex to identify as they are a result of a multitude of different organisational factors. When left unchecked, unprofitable behaviours can result in the success or failure of an organisation and can escalate and even driven underground if dealt with in a mechanistic command-and-control manner. A recent global example of the impact of unprofitable behaviours is the current financial crisis.

We help our clients to identify the complex unprofitable behaviours they need to change throughout the organisation, and implement measures to shape the desired behaviours quickly, accurately and profitably. In the process, we align the behaviours of the different sub-groups so that the organisation bonds together as one, taking ownership of the change for themselves, which makes it far more sustainable.

The ENOS Method works as well in a chocolate factory, a restaurant chain or an advertising agency as it does in a Government ministry, because we draw on universal dynamics of human behaviour. The same principle allows ENOS to apply its method to all cultures, because its starting point is the behaviour-shaping dynamics of the individual organisation and its culture.
